PRIVACY POLICY FOR FUNNEL RUNNERS
Last Updated: July 9, 2026
Supernova Studios LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the data we process. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you play our video game, Funnel Runners (the “Game”).
Supernova Studios LLC, 461 Ophir Road, Oroville, California 95966, USA, is the data controller responsible for the processing described in this Policy and can be reached at support@supernovastudios.com.
By downloading, installing, or playing the Game, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to minimize the collection of personal data. Because Funnel Runners is primarily distributed through third-party PC store platforms (such as Steam), much of your account information is handled directly by those storefronts.
A. Information Provided Natively via Platforms (Steamworks API)
When you play the Game through an authorized storefront, the platform provides us with pseudonymous identifiers to run the game experience:
-
Unique Platform ID: Your internal Steam ID or equivalent console/platform identifier.
-
Gameplay Metadata: Achievements unlocked, game progression, playtime, and matchmaking data.
-
B. Technical and Analytics Data (Collected Automatically)
To ensure game stability, fix performance bugs, and balance gameplay elements, our servers or embedded third-party software may automatically collect:
-
Device Identifiers: IP addresses and unique Hardware IDs.
-
Hardware Specifications: CPU type, graphics card, RAM capacity, operating system version, and framerate metrics.
-
Crash Logs: Detailed diagnostic data generated if the Game encounters an error or crash.
Note on Crash Reports: Crash and error reports are handled through Sentry, an error- and crash-monitoring service operated by Functional Software, Inc. d/b/a Sentry (San Francisco, California, USA), acting as our data processor under an executed data processing agreement. Each report may include a random event identifier, the error type and technical call stacks, basic device and operating system information, and your IP address (used to deliver the report and for coarse diagnostics). Reports are sent automatically when a crash or error occurs so we can diagnose and fix stability problems. They are used only for this purpose — never for advertising or profiling — and we configure the service to minimize and scrub personal information from report contents.
C. In-Game Voice Communication
The Game offers an optional real-time proximity voice chat feature, provided through our voice technology partner, 4Players GmbH (“ODIN”). When you enable and use voice chat:
-
Your microphone audio is transmitted live between players in your active session for the sole purpose of in-game communication.
-
Voice audio is processed in real time and is not recorded, stored, or retained by Supernova Studios or by ODIN as part of normal gameplay.
-
Voice chat is optional and can be muted or disabled at any time through the in-game audio settings. If you do not enable it, no audio is captured.
-
To establish and route the voice connection, your IP address and a session/room identifier are processed transiently by ODIN. Consistent with our data processing agreement with 4Players GmbH, these connection details are not logged or permanently stored, and voice traffic is routed through infrastructure located in the EU/EEA by default.
-
We have not enabled optional voice features such as recording, transcription, or AI-based moderation. If we ever introduce such features, we will update this Policy and provide notice before they go live.
D. Information You Give Us Directly
If you voluntarily reach out to us for customer support via email, our community forums, or Discord, we may retain copies of those communications, including your email address or community username, to resolve your support request.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly for the following operational and business purposes:
-
Game Functionality: To save your progression, manage multiplayer matchmaking sessions, enable in-game voice communication, and synchronize cloud-based achievements.
-
Performance Optimization: To analyze crash dumps and performance metrics to deploy stable game patches and software updates.
-
Cheating Prevention: To monitor for unauthorized modifications, hacks, or bot behaviors that violate our EULA.
-
Customer Support: To directly reply to your technical inquiries, feedback, or refund support requests.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR to process your personal data:
-
Performance of a contract: to deliver core game functionality, matchmaking, voice communication, and cloud saves you request.
-
Legitimate interests: to maintain game stability and security, prevent cheating, analyze performance, and improve the Game, balanced against your rights.
-
Consent: where required by law, such as for optional analytics; you may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your data is only shared with trusted operational vendors under strict data processing agreements:
-
Storefront Operators: Valve Corporation (Steam) handles the base platform distribution, payment processing, and cloud saves.
-
Voice Communication Provider: 4Players GmbH (ODIN) provides the real-time voice transport infrastructure for in-game proximity chat.
-
Crash and Error Reporting Provider: Functional Software, Inc. d/b/a Sentry (San Francisco, California, USA). When the Game crashes or encounters an error, the diagnostic report described in Section 1.B is transmitted to Sentry, which processes it solely on our behalf and on our documented instructions under a data processing agreement. Sentry does not sell or share this data and may use vetted subprocessors (listed at sentry.io/legal/subprocessors) to deliver its service. The Game itself is built on Unreal Engine 5 (Epic Games, Inc.); engine attribution notices appear in the EULA.
-
Backend & Server Hosts: Cloud infrastructure providers used to host multiplayer sessions or relay analytics data.
-
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or formal government requests.
International Data Transfers & Storage Location
-
Where your data is stored: Personal data we hold (including any platform data received through the Steamworks API) is stored and processed in the United States.
-
Voice Data: Real-time voice traffic is routed through infrastructure located in the EU/EEA by default and is not stored.
-
Crash Reports: Crash and error reports generated by the Game are transmitted to and stored by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) in the United States. For players in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Sentry receives this data under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (including the UK Extension) and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback transfer mechanism.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, after which it is deleted or anonymized:
-
Technical, analytics, and crash data: Retained for up to twenty-four (24) months, then deleted or aggregated into non-identifiable form. Crash and error reports held in Sentry are additionally deleted on a rolling basis under that service’s standard retention (currently ninety (90) days), and all such data is deleted when our agreement with Sentry ends.
-
Gameplay metadata and progression: Retained while your platform account remains active in connection with the Game.
-
Support communications: Retained for up to twenty-four (24) months after your request is resolved.
-
In-game voice audio: Not retained; transmitted in real time only.
6. Children’s Privacy
Funnel Runners is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect, store, or target personal information from children under the age of 13, or under any higher minimum age (up to 16) at which local law requires parental consent for data processing, such as in certain EEA member states. We do not serve targeted advertising to any player. Personal data is retained only for the periods described in Section 5 and is never retained indefinitely.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without explicit parental consent, please contact us immediately using the information below so we can promptly purge the data from our active systems.
7. Your Global and Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (such as the State of California or the European Union), you possess explicit legal rights regarding your personal information. These include:
-
The Right to Know & Access: You can request a clear breakdown of the specific categories of data we have collected about you since our records began.
-
The Right to Delete: You can request that we delete the telemetry or analytical information we hold about your device or platform account.
-
The Right to Correct: You can request that we fix inaccurate account details or metadata within our systems.
-
The Right to Data Portability: You can request a copy of the personal data you provided to us in a portable, commonly used format.
-
The Right to Restrict or Object (EEA/UK): You can ask us to restrict certain processing or object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
-
The Right to Appeal: If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response, and we will review the appeal and respond within the timeframe required by your state or country’s law.
We will never discriminate against you (for example, by degrading your Game experience) for exercising any privacy right.
California “Do Not Sell or Share My Info” Notice
We do not sell or share your personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or profile you in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We honor automated universal opt-out signals like the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as required in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Maryland, and other states recognizing such signals. If your device utilizes an active opt-out signal, our servers automatically treat it as a valid request to limit any analytical tracking.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of your data protection rights, please contact us at our dedicated support address: info@supernovastudios.com.
We will verify your identity via your platform ownership records and fulfill your request within the legally mandated timeframes — generally forty-five (45) days for U.S. state privacy law requests and one (1) month for EEA/UK requests, each extendable where the law allows. You may also use an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf where your local law permits.
8. Security of Your Data
We employ industry-standard security safeguards (including transport layer encryption and perimeter access logs) designed to protect our infrastructure from data breaches or unauthorized access. However, please remember that no data transmission over the internet or cloud storage network can be guaranteed as 100% secure.
Reporting Security Vulnerabilities
If you believe you have discovered a security vulnerability in the Game or our services, please report it to support@supernovastudios.com with “SECURITY” in the subject line. We acknowledge good-faith reports, work to remediate confirmed issues promptly, and will not pursue action against researchers acting in good faith.
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material updates are made, we will adjust the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and notify players via an in-game pop-up alert during their next boot or through a public community update on our primary store page.
